Since the opening of Paul & Pia, we have been committed to a policy of environmental and social responsibility.
From the outset, the hotel’s common areas and guest rooms have been designed with eco-responsibility in mind.
The hotel is a candidate for the Clef Verte label in 2025.

Energy management:
Mindful of environmental issues, measures have been put in place to minimize our energy consumption and carbon footprint:
- LED bulbs have been installed in all our rooms and common areas. We keep a close eye on our consumption thanks to a dedicated monitoring chart, and all our rooms are equipped with energy-saving boxes.
- Water-saving devices have been installed on our showers and taps, enabling more responsible use of this precious resource. Our toilets are equipped with volumetric flushes to effectively reduce our water footprint.
By adopting these practices, we are committed to actively contributing to the preservation of natural resources while offering our guests a comfortable stay.
An eco-designed venue
Paul & Pia is a hotel designed to encourage exchange and conviviality. The project’s creators and interior designer Nathalie Schmitt have succeeded in infusing the hotel’s spaces with a unique personality, while promoting local craftsmanship.
The furniture was custom-designed by Alsatian carpenters Créagenceur, and the fabrics by upholsterers Bresch, based in Schirmeck, just a few kilometers from the hotel.
The hotel’s signage was created in collaboration with the Fédération des Aveugles d’Alsace Lorraine. Their expertise enables us to guide our guests around the hotel efficiently and intuitively. And also to support an association working for the inclusion of blind and partially-sighted people in the Grand Est region.
Sustainable purchasing
As part of our approach to preserving the planet, we have chosen to equip the hotel with top-of-the-range bedding, natural-fiber comforters and eco-designed pillows from the DODO brand.
As far as possible, we favor the use of natural products, such as eco-labeled cleaning and hospitality products. All areas are cleaned using dry steam technology: Vapodil.
By implementing these ecological measures, we aim to offer our guests a hotel experience that combines comfort, health and respect for the environment.
Our guests at the heart of our ecological approach
At Hotel Paul & Pia, guests play an essential role in community life. We give our guests a sense of responsibility and place great importance on eco-gestures.
To facilitate their practice, we provide sorting units for plastic, organic, glass and metal waste. We also encourage our guests to limit the number of linen changes in their rooms, so that together we can reduce our energy consumption.
The hotel is ideally located, close to the train station and city center. This enables us to encourage our guests to use public transport and bicycles. To this end, we have established partnerships with local service providers such as Lulu & Cycle. We have also set up a bicycle garage for our guests.
